Roda II Rioja Reserva 2001
Roda Reserva is blended from at least 90 percent Tempranillo, with the balance from Garnacha and Graciano grapes, giving it an expressive fruit flavor and elegant structure. Roda II is blended in a style to appeal to the Burgundy drinker's palate. Deep purple in color, with ripe tannins that are silky yet powerful, and a lengthy, elegant finish.
Bodegas Roda is located in the town of Haro, in the sub-zone of Spain's renowned Rioja Alta, and was founded 1987 by Mario Rottlant and Carmen Daurella, a Catalan couple who met through their business affiliations in gourmet products and wine. Well aware of the significant number of excellent traditional wineries in Rioja, their objective was to create superb, high expression red wines in a modern style reflective of the region and the constituent varietals, yet embodying something unique.
