Rocca di Fabbri Montefalco Rosso 2014
A blend of 65% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino and 20% of varying others depending on the vintage, the grapes are macerated on the skins for about 15 days, before eventually being matured for eight months in stainless steel and 12 months in barrel. Around 80,000 bottles of the Montefalco Rosso are produced each year by Rocca di Fabbri.
The Rocca di Fabbri estate was founded in 1984 by Pietro Vitali. Thanks to his many years experience gained in the antique trade he understood the close connection between the beauty of the arts, the harmony of the countryside and the food and wine traditions of his territory. Located east of the Montefalco DOC zone, nestled on a rolling hillside, the estate has been making excellent Sagrantino di Montefalco and Rosso di Montefalco for many years.
