Privato Chianti Classico 2010

The winery's largest production, the Poggerino Chianti Classico is made from Sangiovese 100%.The wine spends one year in barriques before being aged in bottle. Its color is light ruby, with aromas of blackberries, cherries and redcurrant, with a touch of licorice and vanilla spice. The tannins are sweet and persistent.

Joe Gambino was born in Sicily. As a four year old he helped in his Grandfather’s Vineyard by stomping the grapes. The smells of grapes and wine permeated his senses as he grew into a young man. It comes as no surprise that Joe developed a passion for wine. His lifelong connection to the grapes enabled him to develop into a known and respected wine taster who could predict how wines would mature, and understand the nuances of developing great wines.
