PradoRey Finca Valdelayegua 2013
Tempranillo (Tinta-del Pais, de Toro, Roriz, Tinto Fino) | Spain
It is estate bottled by Real Sitio de Ventosilla with the utmost care and is a great complement to beef and game dishes, as well as other hearty pasta fare. The signature of PradoRey's winemaker guarantees this wine.
PradoRey's history dates back to 1503 when the Count of Ribadeo sold the Real Sitio de Ventosilla estate to Queen Isabel the Catholic. It remained in the Corona de Castilla until 1521 when Carlos I donated it to Marques de Denia II. In 1600 his descendant, the Duke of Lerma, begins the estate's agricultural and livestock colonization and built a royal palace. The property has remained in the hands of royalty until the nineteenth century when it became the property of the Duke of Caldas, who subleased the estate.
