Pierre-Marie Chermette Fleurie Poncie 2014
Shiny crimson with deep purple tints. Delicate and floral, fully blown rose, peony, and voilet aromas. On the palate, the silky Poncie tannins give suppleness, delicac,y and elegance. Really flavourful. over and above red fruit, you will find notes of toast and undergrowth with an end that is often peppery. This cuvee is a great partner to a wide range of dishes.
Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette were amongst the pioneers of sustainable viticulture in the Beajolais: this method includes severe pruning, thinning of the grapes to impreove ripeness when necessary and of course, hand picking. Over the years, the Chermettes have stuck to the principle of always putting quality first. Pierre-Marie Chermette makes his wines in a truly traditional way. Fermentation takes place using the natural yeasts on the grapes and the wines are bottled with little or no filtration to maximize the character of their terroir.
