The Ornellaia 2010 wine, released in 2013, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a unique and distinctive logo silk-screened in gold and ivory. And, the "La Celebrazione" theme for the vintage's large-sized bottles was designed by Michelangelo Pistoletto, one of Italy's most important and influential artists. A deep ruby hue announces remarkable complexity on the nose, releasing heady fragrances of dark wild berry, pungent spice, and smooth-pipe tobacco. The palate is finesse par excellence, with silky tannins and bright, clean-edged fruit, crowned with a finish boasting impressively racy tannins.
53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot. Tenuta dell'Ornellaia was founded in 1981 in a beautiful, unspoiled part of Tuscany, on the Via Bolgherese in that triangle between the sea - the medieval hamlet of Bolgheri and the town of Castagneto Carducci. Their mission is to produce outstanding wines and the estate's flagship wine, first created in 1985 and also named Ornellaia, is proof of their success. With the Ornellaia 2006 vintage, Tenuta dell'Ornellaia introduced the Vendemmia d'Artista project, a marriage between the world of contemporary art and wine that celebrates the unique character of each new Ornellaia vintage. Every year, an internationally known artist will be commissioned to create a work of art (an exclusive label) that captures the essence of the wine, the individuality of the vintage, and its specific personality. These labels are only available on large-sized bottles, which are also individually numbered and personally signed by the artist.
