How good is Murphy Goode's 2007 Fume Blanc? So good that it goes by the name: the Fume. While the winery has been making Fume Blanc since 1985, the 2007 vintage marks a shift in the winery's approach to the wine.
It still has the bright fruit you'd expect from Murphy-Goode, but they also added 20% Sauvignon Musque to the blend, adding citrusy complexity. Fermented in a combination of stainless steel (28%) and French oak barrels (72%), there's a distinctive richness to this wine that wasn't there before, with a kiss of spice that is a lovely accent to the lip-smacking acidity, citrus and tropical fruit touches. Enjoy this with seafood for the ultimate satisfaction.
