Deep ruby-red color with outstanding and powerful notes of ripe red fruit, plums, and cherry juice intermingled with a bit of coffee, sweet spice, and dairy notes. The French oak appears and marries well with the fruity character. Nicely balanced on the palate with well-rounded tannins and very good structure and volume, leading on to a long, lingering finish. Very recommended with duck breast, lamb or pork chops, pasta with pesto, and lamb masala. Ready to enjoy now, or cellar for up to 10 years.
90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aurelio Montes has pioneered in premium and ultra-premium wines, in discovering new wine regions like the superb Apalta Valley and Marchigue (both in Colchagua), in establishing low-yield, steep mountain vineyards and in doing so has gained wide, international recognition. Wine Spectator said it briefly: "Montes offers prehaps the broadest range of quality wine in Chile today." Nourished with T.L.C. (tender loving care), all their vines and wines are the result of personal dedication, a great team, and a little help from their angels.
