Mer Soleil Vineyard is named for 'sea and sun'—high winds of cool maritime influence which occurs in a sunny place. Expect flavors of the Pacific wind, natural mineral acidity, luxuriousness, and refinement.
Mer Soleil has awarded the Reserve designation to the Chardonnay 2011—a cool vintage with the vines reaching a wonderful level of maturity (October 10-27, just before the onset of winter). It is produced from hillside vineyards, which they began planting in 1988, that are grown very near the Monterey Bay of California. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels.
