Deep ruby-red color. Aromas of compote, plums, and cherries. On the palate, there are fruity hints with notes of coffee and cocoa. Very well balanced. Excellent with main-course dishes, grilled or roasted red meats, game, strong cheeses, or on its own at the end of a meal.

Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes. The history of Masi is the history of a family and its vineyards in the Venetian regions. The name itself derives from "Vaio dei Masi," the small valley in Valpolicella acquired by the Boscaini family, who are still its owners now, at the end of the XVIII century. With its deep roots in one of Italy's best wine regions, Valpolicella, Masi makes quality wines that are an expression of the values of their territory of origin. Principally using native grapes and indigenous methods for the Venetian territories, Masi makes what Sandro Boscaini, the guiding light in the company, likes to call "modern wines with an ancient heart," using constant technological updates. Today, Masi is a leader in the production of Amarone and has acknowledged expertise in the Appassimento technique. Vineyard slopes facing the sunset in the Classico area benefit from the refelections of light coming from Lake Garda and its temperate climate. Using ancient grape varieties and traditional methods, this is where Amarone (a unique, modern wine with an ancient heart) has its origins. Proud, majestic, complex, and exuberant: this is Masi's gentle giant. A benchmark for the Amarone category, which together with Barolo and Brunello represents the aristocracy of Italian red wines. The product of Masi's unrivalled expertise in the appassimento technique, where the traditional grapes of the Valpolicella Classico area (Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara) are laid out on bamboo racks during the winter months to concentrate their aromas.
