Marques de Casa Concha Merlot 2012
Merlot | Chile
The limited-production wine was aged in French oak for fourteen months. It abounds in dark fruit aromas that fit perfectly with the generous barrel-supplied vanilla and chocolate notes. Full bodied, it is a wine of supple, velvety tannins.
85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinya Concha y Toro was established in 1883 by Don Melchor, a successful businessman who regularly traveled to Europe. He took vine cuttings from vineyards in Bordeaux and brought them back to his estate in the Maipo Valley, where he planted them. The rest, as they say, is history.
