Marchesi Fumanelli Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2008
Fumanelli Amarino Classico is a wine of rare elegance. Intense garnet red. Perfume of ripe fruits with a hint of small red berries, blending into each other in a sweet vanilla-flavored note; lightly spicy with nutmeg. Full bodied and warm on the palate, soft and perfectly balanced. Traditionally enjoyed with game, roasted and grilled meats, casseroles, or well-matured cheeses. Amarone's distinctive flavor compliments exotic sweet-and-sour dishes and is perfect also with Asian and Middle Eastern dishes.
40% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella. The Marchesi Fumanelli family has been cultivating grapes and producing prestigious wines from their Squarano estate in Valpolicella since 1470. The Squarano estate is located in the heart of Valpolicella, on a gentle hilltop surrounded by vineyards, cherry trees, and cypress trees. Fumanelli is one of the region's largest and most historic family owned wineries, having 78 acres of exclusively estate-grown fruit, within the walls of their ancient property, eight miles from Verona. They deftly combine traditional and modern techniques to produce authentic expressions of their distinctive terroir.
