Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni 2019
Opaque ruby-red color, rimmed in purple, intrigues the eye. The nose is marked by appealing, fragrant fruit, with intense notes of dark-fleshed fruit, such as wild blackberry, black cherry, plum, and strawberry, which shade into toastier notes of cocoa powder, roast espresso bean, tobacco leaf, vanilla, and cinnamon. Impressively full-bodied, the palate is pleasurably warm, smooth, and well-rounded.
Since 1300, Frescobaldi is a Florentine family with thirty generations dedicated to the production of great Tuscan wines in five estates in Tuscany, and a quality distribution network in over 65 countries worldwide. The Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni label faithfully reproduces Villa Frescobaldi di Castiglioni, the most ancient of the country residences of the Frescobaldi family, in Val di Pesa, southwest of Florence. Precisely there, among the hills, the beginning of Frescobaldi wine production is documented - over 700 years ago.
