The silver Mormoreto label pays homage to a farsighted family ancestor and his revolutionary idea in the mid-1800s to produce a great Tuscan wine. In 1855 he invested 1,000 silver Florin coins to plant the first Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines in Tuscany, the grapes used in Mormoreto wines. At the center of the Mormoreto label is the Albizi family's coat of arms, which depicts radiating silver rays in memory of the fame and notoriety of the Florentine family. The crest commemorates the marriage in 1800 between Leonia degli Albizi and Angiolo Frescobaldi that united these two historic Florentine families.
