Louis Latour Marsannay Blanc 2007
White Marsannays run through the entire range of citrus aromas and white flowers. Marsannay 2007 has a pretty, pale-yellow color. The nose is fresh with notes of white flowers such as wild rose. These aromas are paired with more herbal notes of lime blossom. In the mouth, this is a subtle, full, and round wine with finesse; it is muscular and well balanced with good length. It is delicious while still young, but,a few years of cellaring will make it even more appealing.
Chardonnay. The famous slopes of Burgundy produce some of the world's best Chardonnays. Since 1797, Louis Latour has had a great tradition of harvesting and vinifying superb white and red burgundies. Marsannay is the most northerly village in the Cotes de Nuits, just 3.7 miles to the southwest of Dijon. Here starts the Route des Grands Crus which goes through the Cote d'Or vineyards. Wines from Marsannay are generally lively and robust; characteristics that come from the rich iron soil. As a result, Marsannay received its Appellation Controlee in 1987 in recognition of the consistently high quality of its wine.
