Lapostolle Canto de Apalta 2010
Canto is a unique blend that enhances the main characteristics of each grape into a symphony (from the components Carmenere, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah). A careful selection from the different lots of each varietal along with a natural winemaking approach and the mastery of blending create a complex and expressive wine. Deep color, beautiful fruit, and spicy expression in the nose with a round, velvety structure. An ideal companion for stewed and grilled meats in a variety of preparations.
36% Carmenere, 31% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah. In founding Casa Lapostolle, Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle continues a unique family legacy of fine wine and liqueur production—for six generations her family has produced the world-renowned Grand Marnier liqueur. In 1994, she chose the pristine vineyards of Chile (in the town of Cunaco, right next to Santa Cruz) as the birthplace for Lapostolle. With a traditional, Chilean-hacienda style, it has a production capacity of 3,3500,000 liters in stainless steel and French oak tanks, and more than 3,500 French oak barrels. Today, Lapostolle owns 914 acres in three different vineyards, produces an annual total of 200,000 cases, and is distributed in more than 60 countries around the world. At Lapostolle, to capture the freshness of the fruit is their mission. Canto de Apalta, the Song of Apalta, is a red blend inspired by the diverse community of bird species that have found in their vineyards a home to nest, grow, and thrive along with their grapes.
