This wine is produced from the Carmenere grape grown under the excellent microclimatic conditions of the Lontue Valley. Wine of deep red color with lifted aromas of ripe berry fruit and the typical soft notes of earth and pepper. Plummy with a long, smooth finish and ripe, sweet tannins. Best served at a temperature of 64 degrees F.
Produced and bottled by RUT 77.585.350-6 (AKA Bodega y Vinyedos Korta), a project established in 1997. The origin of Empresas Korta ("Korta Enterprises") began in 1948 when Jose Korta founded Cortidos Korta. The business developed and grew until it became one of the main tanneries in Chile. In 1989 the Korta family, guided by Francisco Korta, changes the direction of their business and creates a new company called Frutas de Curico (Fruits of Curico), which was oriented 100% percent towards fruit production. In 1997, Empresas Korta embarked upon the most ambitious and challenging project of its course; thus Bodega y Vinyedos Korta ("Korta Wine Cellar and Vineyards") was born. The winery is located 124 miles south of Santiago (Chile's capital city).
