L'Oliveto Pinot Noir 2013

This wine exudes a deep garnet red color in the grass. The nose is vibrant, offering aromas of raspberry, ceder and orange zest. The palate is richly textured with a core of red fruit enveloped in a gamey earthiness. The finish is long and seamless, accompanied by notes of black tea and cherry.

The 2013 growing season essentially offered conditions that were as close to perfect as they come. Early winter rains were followed by warm, dry spring, resulting in an early growing season that saw no frost. Summer was warm, but without the usual heat spike to shut the vines down or produce sunburn. Ripening occurred earlier than usual, and was very even. The wines are bright, energetic, with beautiful aromatics and full of complexity.
