J Vineyards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2009
Aromas of rich chocolate and wild blackberry fill the glass. The wine delivers flavors of caramel, cinnamon, and black spice. Traditional Pinot Noir fruit flavors of cherry and strawberry are also integrated in a subtle oak structure. Pairs with many earthy foods, such as grilled Portobello mushrooms, smoked country ham, or savory duck confit braised in this wine.
When Judy Jordan founded J Vineyards & Winery in 1986, she applied her love of geology to explore Russian River Valley soils. Located on Old Redwood Highway, south of Healdsburg, they currently have ten estate vineyards, each with their own soil, microclimate, and clones. This allows their winermaker to craft exceptional blends that reflect the favor of each estate vineyard. The winery focuses on Brut and Brut Rose sparkling wines, as well as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris terroir-driven varietal wines, produced from estate-grown grapes farmed primarily within Sonoma County's Russian River Valley appellation. Whether raising a glass with family or friends, Judy hopes you will enjoy this wine to enhance those special moments in your life. The 2010 Pinot Noir is a lush ruby-red wine that vibrantly showcases its cool-climate Russian River Valley pedigree.
