Joseph Carr Pinot Noir Dijon Clone Central Coast 2009

This is our first vintage of Central Coast Pinot Noir. This offering comes from vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountain Range, as well as the Edna Valley. It reflects two unique terroirs and flavors that I most associate with Burgundy and the Cotes de Nuits. Selecting the right combination of Dijon clones to assemble this small production greatly influenced the winemaking process, and hence, we chose to acknowledge this wine with the moniker "Dijon Clone."

Always ever-elusive, our Central Coast Pinot Noir offers cherry, and dark wild raspberry in both the bouquet and taste. I also find aromatic violets, tea, strawberry seed, and hints of mushroom. The wine shows very good structure with balanced, yet approachable tannins.
