Joseph Carr Cabernet Sauvignon Napa County 2012
The wine features aromas of fig, red cherry, blackberry pie, forest floor, mince meats, and cocoa. A big attack of blackcurrant flows to layers of dense tannin, earthy chocolate, and dried fruit. Full bodied with food-friendly acidity, flavors of nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon add complexity to the finish. This Napa Cabernet Sauvignon reflects a traditional, old-school approach to winemaking, where terroir is allowed to express itself and the art of the blend results in wines of balance and complexity. Joseph Carr and celebrated winemaker Aaron Pott work with small growers in the Napa Valley and Rutherford AVAs to assemble this cuvee, which offers richness, depth, and approachability.
