Jean-Jacques Girard Savigny-les-Beaune 2012
This wine begins fermentation in stainless steel before transfer into mainly old French oak barrels. It is bright, clear and crisp, with delicate aromas of gunflint and oak toast, and a palate of citrus and gentle honeysuckle flavour.
The domaine of Jean-Jacques Girard extends over 18 hectares in the Cote D'Or region of Burgundy. It is divided among the villages of Nuit St George, Savigny, Pernand-Vergelesses and Volnay. One of our favourite producers. We like Jean Jacques wines as they offer great purity and elegance that is beautifully married with an aromatic, fruity style. He uses cool fermentation that helps keep the wines fresh in style. Very pure in style with elegance.
