This Sangiovese from Tuscany is produced at the Il Bastardo winery east of Firenze and is rich, fat, and luscious. Ruby red with an aromatic nose and flavors of blackberry and cherry. It has a medium body with good tannins and an overall chianti-like fruit finish.
100% Sangiovese. Bottled by Renzo Masi (RM). The Renzo Masi estate, called Fattoria di Basciano, has been owned by the Masi family since the beginning of 1900. It is located right in the heart of the Chianti Rufina area, on the top of a hill overlooking the Argomenna valley on one side and the right bank of the Sieve river on the other. Since 1993 Paolo Masi has headed the Renzo Masi estate, continuing his father Renzo's legacy.
