Horseshoes and Handgrenades 2010
Bottled by Mouton Noir Wines, a two-fold lifestyle project producing both a T-shirt line and Oregon wines. Founded by sommelier Andre Hueston Mack in 2007, both ends of Mouton Noir incorporate a trademark attitude and personal perspective on wine subculture. The wines are unique and distinctive garage wines, initially created for some of New York's best restaurants for whom Mack was a sommelier and now available nationwide. And, Mouton Noir's apparel is inspired by the wine lifestyle/street culture of skateboarding, punk, and hip-hop. The design is also reminiscent of independent skateboard company apparel of the 1990s. Horseshoes & Handgrenades is a fruit-driven, full-bodied, complex red blend sourced from Southern Oregon and Red Mountain, Washington. The rich, ripe, voluptuous fruit is a blend of Syrah and Tempranillo from Oregon with just enough Washington Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the acclaimed Klipsun Vineyard to give it complexity and structure. Think cherry pits and leather whips!
