Hess Select Chardonnay 2016
Aromas of pear and citrus, highlighting lemon and lime, are followed on the palate with pineapple and tropical fruit flavors. Medium bodied and refreshing, a subtle oak toast balances acidity, resulting in a wine crafted in a modern, fruit-forward style, wonderful to enjoy on its own as an apertif, or with a wide array of dishes across many cuisines. 100% Chardonnay from Monterey, California. Hess Family Estates was founded in 1844 by Johann Heinrich Hess in Berne, Switzerland. For more than 100 years, beer was the central business. When he died, his son, Donald Hess, took over the company and soon became an entrepreneur. In the early 1960s, anticipating the surge of demand for bottled water, Donald created Valser Water, which would become Switzerland's leading mineral-water company.
