The wine is characterized by a deep, reddish-purple hue. Aromas of blackberry and sour currants, gracefully combined with dark chocolate, nuttiness, and earthy minerality. In the mouth, it is a rich, complex wine combining a refreshingly acidic, concentrated full body and well-constructed tannins, leaving a long-lasting aftertaste of mocha and mint. Recommended to accompany meat dishes, lamb, fatty beef such as entrecote or ribs, or rich cheeses.
Kosher. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 30% Petit Verdot. Thirty-five-hundred years ago, Israelite spies came back from their tour of the Promised Land bearing a bunch of grapes so big, it was carried by two. Today, Gvaot grows the smallest possible clusters, concentrating their color and flavor. Masada is the flagship wine of Gavaot Boutique Winery, intended for aging and optimally typifying the local terroir. Each year, the most outstanding barrels in the winery are chosen for the production of this wine. Grapes are hand picked at dawn from the winery's vineyards planted on the eastern slopes of the central hills in the Shomron, at an altitude of 2,296-2,953 feet above sea level. The wine was aged for 22 months in French oak barrels. Under proper storage conditions, it will continue to age and improve in bottle for the next few years. The wine was bottled unfiltered and this limited series consists of 1,900 numbered bottles.
