Sweet toffee and toasted malt notes with hints of honey and a touch of peppermint. Fruity, ripe banana notes linger. The palate is spicy initially with dark chocolate and a slight nuttiness leading to a smooth and creamy finish.
Established in 1895, the family-owned firm of Gordon & MacPhail is custodian to some of the world's finest and rarest single-malt Scotch whiskies. Casks owned by Gordon & MacPhail are sent to distilleries throughout Scotland and filled with 'new-make' spirit, before being left to mature at the distillery or in their warehouses in Elgin. The MacPhail's Collection is a small and exclusive range of fine single-malt Scotch whiskies bottled from distilleries located throughout the main whisky-producing areas of Scotland. Tamdhu Distillery was one of several to be built along the Strathspey railway line, which at one time played such an important part in the whisky industry. In 2011, the distillery was purchased by Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd.
