Gerard Bertrand Vin Doux Naturel Banyuls 2009
Blend | France
A ruby-red colour with shimmering hints of violet. On the nose, it reveals aromas of very ripe red and black fruit. On the palate, the wine is full and well-balanced with jammy aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry, backed by distinctive woody notes.
Banyuls wines, in a kaleidoscope of sea, mountains, sunshine and wind, are above all wines for pleasure. The vines, open to the generous climate, produce expressive, quintessential, rich, powerful, elegant and aristocratic wines steeped in the warmth of the sun and the rusticity of the schist soils. The character of the terroir and wines of Banyuls stems from the majestic Grenache grape variety
