Georges Duboeuf Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2007
The reds are legendary, powerful, robust, and full bodied. Their bouquet is complex and slightly balsamic with aromas of soft red fruits, leather, aniseed liquorice, and spices. They have a full bodied structure and are long and supple on the palate. These are wines to age, red or white, which are excellent accompaniments for winter meals. Reds should be drunk between 61–64 degrees F.
The story begins over four centuries ago, when the Duboeuf family was producing wine in the Maconnais region. Georges was very young when his uncle and brother passed down both their passion for wine and their secrets of production. At just 18 years old, he preferred to take care of the family business with his brother rather than pursuing his studies. Georges Duboeuf is a premium producer of award-winning French wines from the Beaujolais and Maconnais regions of Burgundy and the South of France—the #1 selling brand of Beaujolais in the world. Georges Duboeuf's love affair with Beaujolais is no secret. His legendary palate, his ability to spot a good wine, and his continuing enthusiasm made him an emblematic figure in the wine industry. His wines are renowned for their consistency, quality, and value. Georges Duboeuf currently works closely with hundreds of growers (over 400 winegrowers in the Beaujolais region alone) in order to be sure that the highest quality of fruit from each region is being sourced.
