Finca Museum Crianza 2003
Cigales has been a grape-growing and winemaking region for hundreds of years; curiously, it produces less wine now than at the beginning of the 20th century.
100% Tinta del Pais (Tempranillo). Finca Museum is the first venture of Baron de Ley outside its home region, located in the small DO Cigales of the Castilla y Leon region. In the late 90s, it was an unknown appellation with an extreme climate and wealth of old vines. Scouring the estates and the bars of villages in Corcos, Trigueros, Cigales, and other municipalities, the old Miraflores estate caught the attention of Baron de Ley. So in 1999 they purchased the estate and created their first vintage that same year. The estate includes the largest, open-air vineyard of sculptures while the bodega houses an equally fine collection of paintings—just like a museum, hence its name of Finca Museum. Calling it the "Museum Art Collection," this assemblage, just like Finca Museum's wines, complements human sensibilities with the mysteries and enchantment of nature.
