Produced by Long Shadows Vintners. The 2006 Feather includes grapes from acclaimed Horse Heaven Hills vineyards (32%), such as Wallula, contributing dark fruit character and earthiness to the wine. Stillwater Creek on the Royal Slope of the Frenchman Hills (23%) brings fresh fruit aromas and balance. Grapes from the Wahluke Slope (19%) add beautiful structure and ripe tannins.
The 2006 Feather is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon cuvee made by Randy Dunn of Napa Valley fame. The wine was sourced from several prime vineyards and aged for 22 months in new French oak. The nose gives up aromas of toasty oak, scorched earth, Asian spices, black currant, and blackberry. Firm and structured yet elegant on the palate, there are layers of fruit and enough tannin to evolve for another 4-6 years. The wine will be at its best from 2013 to 2026.
