Fattoria Le Terrazze Praeludium 2008

Light ruby with slightly mauve highlights. Intense fruity nose typical of the montepulciano grape variety enhanced by the freshness of the syrah. Soft and elegant to taste with hint of soft red fruits. Served at 61 degrees F, it's a perfect accompaniment to bouillabaisse and Stoccafisso all'Aconetana (a delicious local dish made from dried cod, tomatoes, garlic, black olives, rosemary, and lots of really good olive oil).

85% Montepulciano, 15% Syrah. The history of Fattoria le Terrazze begins in 1882 on the foothills of Monte Conero in Numana at the time when the present winery was built. Ever since the end of the nineteenth century the Terni family has been producing montepulciano grapes which find their natural habitat in the area. The winery's most representative wine is Rosso Conero which is available as Rosso Conero DOC and as Sassi Neri Conero Riserva DOCG. Alongside these wines, the winery also produces IGT Marche Chaos made from a blend of montepulciano, syrah, and Merlot grapes, a chardonnay named Le Cave, the rose Pinkfluid, and a traditional method sparkler Donna Giulia obtained from montepulciano grapes.
