Echeverria Special Selection Sauvignon Blanc Late Harvest 2007
This Late Harvest wine has an extremely pleasant and complex aroma with clear overtones of mature peaches, apricots, and honey emerging from a delicate background of botrytis. These characters reappear fully in the palate, enhanced by marked notes of quince jam and creamy, honeyed flavors enlivened by a good level of acidity. Rich, intense, and full bodied, this exceptional wine has a very long and elegant finish where fruits and botrytis express their identity in full harmony.
Active in Chilean agriculture, grape growing and winemaking since 1740, the Echeverria family established their current vineyards and winery in 1923 in the outskirts of Molina, a town in the Curico Valley. Here, they grow grapes from French pre-philloxera rootstocks, on their 198 acres of vineyards. Originally established to produce bulk wines, in 1990, the winery was converted to produce quality wines for export. In the following years, Echeverria was one of the few boutique wineries to emerge from Chile and the first family winery from Chile to sell wine to Harrods in London. The Late Harvest wine is born from a special selection of Echeverria's own estate-grown sauvignon blanc grapes, handpicked in several stages in late Autumn to ensure the presence of true botrytis. The extreme care required to produce this outstanding wine is a reflection of their family commitment to quality that enables them to ensure the excellence of all their wines.
