Dr. Fischer Riesling 2011

Exclusively handcrafted. Very good balance between sugar and acidity, low alcohol 9%. Refreshing with fine minerality, delicate fruit, great maturing potential. A nice friend for green salad, steamed mussels in Riesling with herbs.

According to family documents, the Fischer family was involved in grape growing and winemaking as far back as 1758. In 1950, Dr H.H.Fischer, a surgeon, inherits the estate from his father, an appointed public notary in Ockfen. However, he had to report for medical duties in Frankfurt, so his wife, Gunhild, helped manage the estate. The former Lintz estate in the nearby village of Wawern was purchased in 1964, formally owned by the cathedral seminary of Trier before secularization in 1796.
