This wine is made from grapes harvested in 2009 at Dow's finest Douro Valley vineyards. Aged in Dow's historic stone-walled wine lodge, built in 1825, and bottled only at perfect maturity, this wine has outstanding, rich fruit flavors and notes of chocolate and spice. An immensely pleasing wine that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with dark chocolate.
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Alicante Bouschet, Sousao, Tinto Cao, and Tinta Amarela. The story of Dow's is unusual amongst all the great port houses. It began in 1798 when Bruno da Silva, a Portuguese merchant from Oporto, made a journey which was the opposite to that of the first British merchants. Bruno set up in London from where he imported wine from his native country.
