Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) Aruma 2017
In the high altitudes of Mendoza, the Native Indians speak of "Aruma"—"the power of the night," which is said to give the great wines their perfect balance and freshness. The name suggests the deep darkness of the nights in the Andes and the very pure mountain air: the wines have the same rich, authentic character as their terroir.
Produced and bottled by Bodegas Caro. Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A., established in 1933, is located at Pauillac in the Medoc. Famous for two centuries, first in banking then in wine, the Rothschild name comes from the German phrase "Das Rote Schild"—a reference to the Red Shield which originally served as the family sign. They have been motivated by a constant ambition: to make the world's finest wines, each in its own category—from the chateaux wines like the renowned Chateau Mouton Rothschild, their flagship wine, to branded wines such as the famous Mouton Cadet.
