Domaine Spiropoulos Ode Panos
Pale, bright silver-yellow with steady, delicate, and distinctive ribbons of bubbles. On the palate, dominant rose aromas and delicate flavors of fermentation, such as green apple and banana, round out this wine's flavor profile.
Domaine Spiropoulos has been making wines since 1870 in Mantinia, in the Peloponnese. In 2007 they expanded to Nemea, opening a new winery in Corinthia for the production of red wines. A combination of over 150 acres of indigenous and international varietals are cultivated, including a vineyard reserved for near-extinct local varietals. Domaine Spiropoulos is certified organic and produces both wallet- and food-friendly wines. Spiropoulos believes that Moschofilero is suitable for sparkling wine production - probably the most suitable of all indigenous Greek grape varieties. Ode Panos proved them to be right with its pale yellow color and persistent, fine bubbles. It has an aromatic intensity with evident varietal character. Rose petals are at the front while the cool fermentation aromas contribute to the overall complexity. Creamy on the palate with freshness, vivacity, intensity and length, a totally new experience.
