Domaine Raymond Usseglio Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge 2012
Made with 90% Grenache, 5% Mourvedre, 3% Syrah, 2% Counoise. Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge, with its highly dominant grenache, is a reflection of the assembly of different grape varieties and terroirs of Domaine Usseglio appellation. A structured, unfiltered wine with fine and elegant tannins; decanting is necessary in the first few years.
The domaine was created by my grandfather Francis USSEGLIO who came from Italy in 1931 s' moved to Chateauneuf du Pape and starts producing his own wine in 1948. In 1963, Father Raymond take his succession and with my mother Danielle they will create and enlarge the area that will be called FIELD USSEGLIO RAYMOND. Since 1999 it's now my turn to exploit and cultivate 24 hectares of area.
