Domaine Guerrin Macon-Vergisson Les Rochers 2012
This wine puts the accent on the fruit, with a lovely crispness and good minerality. The nose reveals tangy notes of very ripe lemons; in the mouth, it has a charming vigor with a refreshing side. This cuvee offers an explosion of fruits, and is a true wine for pleasure. It can be drunk at any time of day. An ideal accompaniment for oysters or any other shellfish, its crisp freshness also makes it a delightful aperitif wine. This wine should be drunk young to fully appreciate the power of its fruity aromas.
At the heart of the protected natural site between the Roche de Solutre and the Roche de Vergisson in southern Burgundy, just to the west of Macon, it is in the village of Vergisson that Domaine Guerrin took root. Since 1984, the estate has grown and developed, but has always retained a family spirit and a rigorous approach to the production of quality wines. Guerrin's vines are split between more than 35 small, mainly limestone plots with a total area of 34.5 acres, making up a patchwork of different soil types that offer an exceptional diversity of terroirs. This particularity gives each of their wines a very distinct character. Domaine Guerrin's hands-on, artisanal approach to viticulture is guided by passion and a constant desire to produce wines of quality and character.
