Made with 100% Grenache. Cabirau Serge & Tony Grenache has an exuberant nose of ripe black raspberry that is mingled with mint and smoked meat. What it lacks in complexity, it makes up for in sheer, mouthfilling generosity of fruit and a smooth, lip-smacking finish.
Below the ancient Cathar fortress of Queribus is a vineyard planted to Grenache, purchased by importer Dan Kravitz in 2007. Serge Soulatge lives in the village and tends the vines with the same care he gives his own. In the fall, after the fruit is harvested by hand, Tony Gonzalez of the neighboring village of Cases de Pene makes the wine with the same care he brings to the wines of Pena.
