Domaine Bott-Geyl Pinot d'Alsace 2004
Blend | France
Jean-Christophe Bott, who recently took the family domain into the biodynamic camp, produces a vast array of essentially supple, easygoing wines.
These wines reflect multiple current trends in Alsatian winemaking: in addition to the application of biodynamic techniques, Bott is holding onto his bottles for up to two years before release, so that these wines shed some of their sweetness. His basic releases are classically built, minerally and focused while his grand cru and Vendange Tardive bottlings are flashy, weightier and more exotic.
