Delaille Domaine du Salvard Unique Pinot Noir 2013

This pinot noir is juicy, medium-bodied, and very quaffable! It’s brimming with sprightly red fruit. Aromas of cherry, cranberry, and bay leaf are bright and inviting. There is an enjoyable tartness and a hint of chalky minerality – the wine is soft on the palate and low in alcohol. It’s juicy freshness makes a wonderful partner to late summer veggies like eggplant.

Domaine du Salvard has been a working domaine since 1898, through five hardworking generations of the Delaille family. Today, all forty-two hectares of vineyards are farmed by the capable brother team of Emmanuel and Thierry Delaille, with help from their father Gilbert. The ‘Unique’ is grown from 10-20 year-old vines that are deeply rooted in a bed of sand and clay on the plains of northeastern Touraine just outside of the Cheverny appellation. The domaine uses sustainable farming practices.
