Daniel Dampt Chablis 1er Cru Cote de Lechet 2013
Very subtle nose of white flowers in its youth, its remarkable aging potential will reveal its full power after a few years with a very mineral finish. Serve with turbot with white butter, Coquilles St. Jacques, lobster, or crayfish.
100% Chardonnay. Estate-bottled by Daniel Dampt et Fils, a family tradition of excellence that began over 150 years ago. The estate is located on the outskirts of the small village of Milly, beneath the Premier Cru Cote de Lechet, and currently has 74 acres of vineyards in production. Today, little has changed—Daniel Dampt and his sons still stick with the simple but effective recipe of growing top-quality fruit and allowing the individual terroir of each appellation to shine through, as did his father, Jean Defaix, before him. Their state-of-the-art winery features temperature-controlled, stainless-steel tanks, which allows the Dampt family to take the quality of their wines to the next level. And, a new line of wines under the Maison Dampt brand was added in 2008 when Vincent and Sebastien Dampt, with the aid of their father Daniel, created a wine trading company in order to extend their current range of wines. These quality wines are produced with the same care and attention that all their wines receive—displaying the superb characteristics of their Chardonnay grapes.
