Dalton Estate Cannan Sweet Moscato 2019
This is a low-alcohol (8%), semisweet white wine with a light fizz.. Only semisweet (not greasy-kid stuff, bubble gum, or cotton candy), this wine features notes of honey, apples, and peaches enabling you to taste the nuances of the grapes themselves, as no sugar or sweeteners of any kind were added. This is the world's only estate-bottled, kosher Moscato. While not from Italy, this "Moscato di Galilee" will be a welcome and familiar addition to the Shabbat and Kiddush table.
The Dalton Winery, near Kerem Ben Zimra, is set in the beautiful green, mountainous country of the Upper Galilee, 3.1 miles from the Lebanese border, overlooking the Hermon Mountain. The Winery was established in 1995 when the Haruni family from England came to settle in Israel. Initially the winery was situated in makeshift premises in Moshav Kerem Ben Zimra and produced 30,000 bottles, but now it occupies its own home overlooking the Hula Valley and makes about 800,000 bottles annually. Dalton is the only winery situated in this area, and can boast that it is one of the few wineries in Israel located minutes from all its vineyards.
