Cradle of Wine Gogi's Kakheti 2013
The grapes for this wine are grown organically. Only grape varieties that are indigenous to the Georgian regions are used.
Tasting Notes - The red wine achieves a profound golden tint because of the all-encompassing skin contact. This vintage wine is very fresh with hints of apricot and persimmon with chamomile and even a touch of turmeric on the nose. The palate is rich and wide with some extraordinary mouthfeel. The wine isn't unpleasant however, the flavor is moderated with only a bit of leftover sugar.
The Producer - In Kakheti, where it is more sweltering and drier than in different parts of the nation, the custom is to age the majority of the whites and reds on skins and cha-cha for the whole procedure. This is to reflect the more harsh atmosphere of the area and accommodate wines of more noteworthy force and structure. In Western Georgia, only 2/3 of the wines are made of skins, sometimes even less. Thus Kakheti wine is a lot darker, increasingly structured, and are more intense. These Georgian wines are best served at room temperature to draw out the full scope of complex fragrances, particularly in the whites.
