Convento dei Cappuccini Don Giovanni Barbera d'Asti 2010
Convento dei Cappuccini specializes in wines which are ready to drink now, bold and fresh expressing the concentration of the estate grown grapes. Established early in the 17th century, they have a long history of wine making. The Botto family has owned the vineyards surrounding the Original "Convento" for over 300 years. In the 1960's Pier Luigi Botto's Great Uncle bought the original "Convento" and the family has now placed the actual production in the property. As Pier Luigi says "The monks have made wine in Convento Cappuccini for hundreds of years".
This Barbera d'Asti is a brilliant ruby red wine, aromatic, full bodied, and enhanced with dark fruit. Slightly dry and robust, which is exceptionally pleasant on the palate. A velvety harmonious finish with considerable elegance.
