Dark and deep red in color. Rich and concentrated aromas of black fruit and cassis upfront are followed by a complex array of dried flowers, mineral graphite, and smoke. Velvety textured and powerful, with a core of ripe fruit and earth highlighting well-rounded, elegant tannins. Pairs well with roasted or barbecued meats, aged cheeses, or pastas.
88% Syrah, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinya Concha y Toro was established in 1883 by Don Melchor, a successful businessman who regularly traveled to Europe. He took vine cuttings from vineyards in Bordeaux and brought them back to his estate in the Maipo Valley, where he planted them. The rest, as they say, is history. With over 21,700 acres of vineyards in some of the best locations in both Chile and Argentina, Vinya Concha y Toro has complete control over wine quality from the planting of grape varieties to harvesting, cellaring, and bottling. Terrunyo Syrah comes from the Rucahue Vineyard, located at the root of the Costal Mountain Range, in the Cachapoal. Block 34 was planted on a hillside with south exposure. Refreshing shades projected in nearby hills lower down summer afternoon temperatures, pacing up the ripening of the grapes.
