Dark, deep red. Intense aromas of black plum, blueberries, and dark chocolate. Concentrated black fruit flavors, good structure with soft, sweet tannins and a rich full body. Gran Reserva Serie Riberas Malbec is a great red for firm cheeses, steak, lamb, or spicy dishes.
100% Malbec. Vinya Concha y Toro was established in 1883 by Don Melchor, a successful businessman who regularly traveled to Europe. He took vine cuttings from vineyards in Bordeaux and brought them back to his estate in the Maipo Valley, where he planted them. The rest, as they say, is history. With over 21,700 acres of vineyards in some of the best locations in both Chile and Argentina, Vinya Concha y Toro has complete control over wine quality from the planting of grape varieties to harvesting, cellaring, and bottling. The majestic, high Andes forming the backbone of South America have a series of ridges that jut out east-west. In Chile, vital crystalline water crashes down the steep mountain valleys carving out short river courses to the Pacific and refreshing the bountiful riverbank crops and vineyards on its way. The Malbec vineyards, planted on the south bank of the Tinguiririca River, produces a wine with tremendous elegance and aromas of violets, blueberries, and caramel.
