Collefrisio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2007
100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Dark, garnet-red color with bluish reflections. Aromas of berries, blackberry, pomegranate, Marasca cherry, and black truffle, with spicy notes of pepper and cloves. Soft and velvety on the palate, great structure, long, and rich sensations of cocoa in the finish.
Azienda Collefrisio, founded by Amedeo De Luca and Antonio Patricelli, is located on the Frisa hills, in the Chieti province of the Abruzzo region. Spread over 3 estates that share a total of 86 acres of vineyards, which has a historically suitable terrain for vineyard planting and wine production, the company combines high-quality standards with large productions of various varietals. Their work is grounded on the principle that wine production begins in the vineyard. Grapes are organically grown in accordance with organic farming principles, not to make Organic, but to provide a gentle and non-invasive care for the integrity of the grapes. Despite being a medium-sized company, they are flexible to the demands of markets that deal with quality wines. Collefrisio is able to handle and operate the entire production process up to the logistics for shipment all over the world on its premises.
