This little vineyard owned by Benoit Trocard since 2002 is located in Saint Christophe des Bardes. The grapes are not crushed and the prefermentation under 57 degrees F lasts 5 to 6 days. Then the fermentation process will last 2 to 3 days around 81 degrees F. The maceration of a week at 88 degrees F gives this wine an incredible finesse and concentration. The wine goes then into oak barrels (100% new oak) for the 2nd fermentation and will age this way 18 to 20 months.

90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. Estate bottled by Famille Trocard, making garage wines since 1960. The clay-limestone terroir of Saint Emilion. Manual grape harvest at optimum maturity. Low yields. Very rigorous selective sorting of grapes.Vinification of whole berries at a low temperature to preserve the fruit and to obtain tight, powerful, and coated tannins. Aging 22 months in oak barrels 100% new French oak barrels. The family works with the utmost respect for their terroir.
